Logistic business ask to alter electric bills
The Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry called for the government to revise electricity charges for logistic facilities.
KCCI asserted that discriminative high electricity charges have been inflicted on logistic facilities compared to warehouses belonging to mining and manufacturing companies. The high costs act as an obstacle in saving logistics costs and stabilizing prices, even for manufacturing. Domestic corporate manufacturing businesses spent 12.5% of total sales revenues (based on 1999 figures) on logistic costs while in the US companies only spent 7.3% and in Japan a mere 6.1%.
Considering the increasing automation of logistic facilities, the burden of electricity bill will likely increase even more.
