COSCO, K-Line, MOL, NYK, and P&O Swire form consortium to share vessels in Australian trade
Five leading global shipping companies, including COSCO and the consortium of K-Line, MOL, NYK and P&O Swire, agreed to exchange vessel slots in East Asia and Australia trades. COSCO would offer slots to others in China and East Australia trade while other companies would share slots in the Japan / Korea / South East Asia / East Australia loop. The aim of the consortium is to offer more efficient services to customers.
The consortium and COSCO will exchange slots bilaterally, maintaining their own services.
The COSCO service calls at Shanghai, Huangpu, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and the consortium enters Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Pusan, Keelung, HongKong, Sydney, Melbourne and Yokohama.
Details will be announced prior to the slot exchange being put into practice this June.
