Norasia Announced the Launch of its Asia-Pacific North West svc

Norasia recently confirmed in an internal company announcement the lau
nch of its Asia-Pacific North West service, with deployment of their f
ast and innovative new buildings.
The service in set to commence with the first sailing from Hong Kong o
n the 15th of May, with the subsequent and onward sailings starting fr
om niche ports in South East Asia.
Norasia will operate the service independently, and will complement he
r CFX service linking Canada to North Europe and the Mediterranean sea
. The service will use ships of 1400 teu that have a service speed of
25 knots. Norasia has the recent speed record on the Atlantic of 5.6 d
ays between ports of Montreal and Zeebrugge set on the 7th July, 1998.
The expected port ratation of the service is Laem Chebang, Port Klang,
Singapore, Jakarta, HongKong, Keelung, Busan, Vancouver and one US po
rt in the PNW.
By extending into Niche’s in South-East Asia and deploying reasonable
sized ships, Norasia will focus on a select client market, and in the
delivery of a fast, direct and reliable service. The service will als
o look to attract exports fom the Sub-Continent with Port Klang calls.
The service will also provide excellent connections to Norasia’s ser
vice to the Gulf(GALEX) and to the sub-continent.
Currently Norasia operates via a joint service 2 services to North Eur
ope and the Med, and with strong agents in a growing market, has the c
onfidence to achieve a profitable service with highest revenues.
The interest of the strong Pacific market was stated in the evidence o
f Service Contracts already concluded, and the healthy response in the
other negotiations now on.
Norasia has also moved towards direct selling in the Canada/US markets
with direct involvement in Sales and customer service.
