RCI to deploy cruise vessel at Busan Port
July 11th 2008, Busan, Korea - Royal Caribbean International (RCL), the world's second largest cruise shipping company, decided to deploy a cruise vessel at Busan Port from November next year, making significant contributions to vitalizing local tourism.
Busan Port Authority (BPA) said on July 10th that Mr. Gap Sook Lee, president of BPA met with Mr. Adam Goldstein, president of RCI in Busan where Mr. Goldstein said that RCI will deploy its cruise ship, Legend of the Seas, at Busan Port.
He added that Busan Port will be the homeport for Legend of the Seas together with the ports of Singapore, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, which are also homeports for Rhapsody of the Seas.
He also said Rhapsody of the Seas, which had been put into service during the last April and May with Busan Port, recorded 100% reservations and was a tremendous success.
Mr. Lee, president of BPA, explained the Busan North Port Development Project and asked RCI to continue to use Busan Port.
Legend of the Seas will call at Busan Port from next year, is 70,000 tons, 265m long, has a passenger capacity of 2,076, and convenient facilities such as a rock-climbing wall, casino, and indoor/outdoor pool.<Korea Shipping Gazette>
