Hanjin·DSR-Senator·CYL·UASC Officially Announced Their New Alliance
Name‘United Alliance’
On March 26th, Hanjin Shipping, DSR-Senator Line, Cho Yang Shipping an
d United Arab Shipping Company officially announced that they will ope
rate under the name of “United Alliance” as partners in a worldwide
agreement designed to coordinate their activities in main container tr
ades.
This coordination will be reflected in vessel depoyment and slot shari
ng, terminal arrangements, and equipment rationalization, in order to
provide a comprehensive and competitive portfolio of services to the l
ines’customers.
The newly named United Alliance will provide highly competitive global
market coverage, sailing frequencies and transit times in all major t
rades by coordinating 93 container vessels with a total capacity of 30
2,000 TEUs. The United Alliance service plan is shcheduled to be fully
in place by March 1998.
It will be characterized by 7 weekly sailings on the Transpacific, fou
r weekly loops in the Europe/Asia trade and two sailings a week in the
Transatlantic and Mediterranean trades as listed below: PS-PDM 1(Euro
