[ Now Use Internet to Track Your Cargo!! ]
Maaersk Line customers can see where their cargoes are at any time
through Maersk Line’s Internet Homepage(http://www.maerskline.com).
As soon as the customers get their B/L No. and Container No. from
customer service they can track their cargoes at their office without
calling Maersk Line.
For almost any business sector, the Web has become a place where
customers and suppliers interact with each other. Also, the
international shipping and transportation business has moved towards
Web based interaction with shippers and consignees: most major and
also smaller shipping companies are represented on the Web, some with
more, others with less sophisticated Web solutions.
Maersk Line is determined to actively participate and take advantage
of this development. After having published Mearsk Line’s first
homepage in 1996, this new interactive function is now available on
the Web.
The cargo tracking page is accessed directly from Mearsk Line’s
homepage. By inserting a B/L No. and Container No., the user will be
informed about the current status as well as the past and planned
routing of a shipment.
Clicking a buttom on the screen will retrieve a list of all container
numbers, sizes and types moving under the respective B/L No. and
Container No.
All information relates to the physical moments of the shipment. This
means that at this stage no proprietary data e.g. customer name,
freight or cargo details are made available.
