Hanjin to offer new services for the U.S.
Hanjin Transportation will offer third party logistics services in the U.S.
Hanjin Transportation announced that it was selected as cargo terminal operator for Korean Air, and will start operating cargo terminal service from December 1. President Lee Won Young finished advance preparations for the business during a trip to the U.S. from October 18 to 21. He concluded a contract with the U.S. logistics corporation IAS (Integrated Airline Services).
Hanjin Transportation will handle 3,683 tons of cargoes by operating 1,880 pyoung (about 3.3 sq. m) of bonded warehouse space in the Dallas airport when the business starts.
The company has 798 employees and 50 machines allocated for stevedoring in the U.S.
Hanjin already started logistics operations in the south western U.S. centered in Texas connecting with the Huston logistics operational area in February of this year. It will offer fixed transportation services for the west coast including LA, San Francisco and Seattle from next year.
Hanjin will also conclude a logistics contract outsourcing with a mid-sized tire production company. Hanjin will provide one-stop logistics services for U.S. and Chinese forwarding, customs services with complete logistics services including warehouse management, packing and delivery.
