Samsung Heavy Industry builds 9,200 TEU containerships
Samsung Heavy Industry announced on July 11 that it held a naming ceremony for two 9,200 TEU class containerships and delivered them to the new shipowner.
The containerships are twins, the 'MSC Pamela' and 'Susanna', and their owner plans to sell them to MSC. They will service in Europe-Asia routes.
They are 337 meters long, 46 meters wide and 9,200 TEU, which means that they can transport 1.2 million 29-inch color TVs or 50 million mobile phones at once.
The MSC Pamela is scheduled to call at Busan - Shanhai - Ningbo - Chiwan - Singapore - Valencia - Le Harve - Rotterdam - Felixtow - Antwerp - Jebel Ali - Singapore - Chiwan - Busan.
