Yeosu and Gwangyang ports to welcome maiden docking for outbound ships
Yeosu Regional Maritime Affairs & Fisheries Office (Yeosu MOMAF) plans to hold a welcome ceremony for maiden dockings of outbound ships to raise maiden callings at Yeosu and Gwanyang ports.
The welcome ceremony is for first callings of ships after opening the terminal and pier and for new routes of container ships. The Yeosu MOMAF administrator plans to visit these ships and encourage employees onboard the ships.
Yeosu MOMAF held the first ceremony for a K-Line containership, the 'Manhattan Bridge', which newly called at Gwangyang port on May 17.
K-Line's call at Gwangyang is because a new route (Kwangyang-Qindao-Longbeach-Oakland) opened.
Meanwhile, it is estimated that 900 of 14,000 docking ships had new callings at Yeosu and Gwangyang ports last year.
