A superspeed passenger ferry is waiting to sail between Inchon and Qingdao

Weidong Ferry Co., Ltd. said Nov. 13 that the company will deploy the largest passenger ferry, the 28,730-ton New Golden Bridge V, in the Inchon/Qingdao trade route from mid-January next year. The New Golden Bridge V sails at a maximum speed of 27 knots, shortening transit time to 16 hours from the current 21 hours.
The vessel was built in Japan February 1997, and can carry 450 passengers and 280 containers. The vessel also will change the sailing schedule to Qingdao to three times weekly from four times of curently two operating vessels, the Zi Yu Lan and the New Golden Bridge III.
