MSC orders from Hanjin Subic Shipyard

Hanjin Heavy Industries received orders for 10,000-TEU container ships.

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) signed an LOI for four 11,000-TEU container ships.

MSC will receive the new container ships in 2017. Ship prices were reported as $80 million per ship.
MSC's introduction of 10 same-type vessels corresponds to the rising market and Panama Canal expansion. Four vessels are on direct order and the remaining 6 are chartered.

According to Tradewinds, MSC has deployed new vessels in its Asia - US east and west coast, and North America - South America routes.
Now, MSC is looking for ship owners to charter ships. Eastern Pacific Shipping is an influential candidate. Eastern Pacific has rented a number of container ships to MSC.
