STX reaches 60% of year's sales goal in May
STX Shipbuilding announced on June 7 that it has received one billion dollars in orders, reaching 60% of this year's goal of 1.7 billion dollars.
STX Shipbuilding received orders for three 51,000 dwt oil tankers from Parakou Shipping Limited in Hong Kong in May of this year. It also received orders for two 2,700 TEU container ships and one 51,000 dwt oil tanker from NYK in Japan and Ionia in Greece in May, respectively.
STX Shipbuilding received work orders for 6 ships worth 285 million dollars in May and accepted orders for a total of one billion dollars in orders to date this year.
The company already has 3 years worth of orders for 108 vessels worth 3.5 billion dollars. STX Shipbuilding explained that it would add build high value added ships from the second half of this year.
