New Car-ferry Service Between Donghae and Tsuruga to Commence.
The car-ferry service between Donghae located in the eastcoast of Korea
and Tsuruga in the westcoast of Japan will be commenced as early as
possible within next month. This trade has had a lot of troubles since
Korea and Japan had signed their agreement on commencement between Dong-
hae and Tsuruga in 1989.
Dongmyung Shipping, the operating company, will deploy a 5,000 dwt class
vessel with four sailings a week.
As a matter of fact, in line with the new service, 5 shipping companie
s including this Dongmyeng had sumitted their applications to the KMPA
, but they had once concluded that no applicants were duly qualified at
that time.
Nothwithstanding, Dongmyeng had once again submitted the application to
the government last August and they have finally approved it under their
close discussion with other related departments.
