Hanjin Shipping to launch new advanced logistics IT system
Hanjin Shipping announced the successful launch of its new advanced logistics IT system as of April 5th, after approximately 2 years of development in cooperation with Cyberlogitec and IBM GBS.
ALPS (Advanced Logistics Pathfinder System) is a web-based system aimed to maximize work efficiency by improving the work process of the company front offices with a variety of new functions including pre-checking of dangerous cargo and unifying booking and B/L numbers and more. Also, in order to increase customer satisfaction, this new system can issue customized invoices and provide detailed information on container equipment.
In Mo Yang, Vice President at Hanjin Shipping, commented ?n consideration of the complications and delicacy of shipping operations, we tried to create a system that suits the characteristics of the local environment.He added, we are confident that APLS will improve our work efficiency and enable us to provide better service to our customers.
Meanwhile, despite the market crisis over the past 2 years, Hanjin Shipping has invested approximately KRW 40 billion in developing company-wide IT system in order to upgrade customer service.
