BPA actively marketing in Tohoku, Japan
BPA launched marketing activities in Tohoku, Japan, promoting the merits of the New Port hinterland logistics complex as a transshipment port.
BPA president, Roh Ki-tae, held a seminar under the title of Letter Logistics by Using Busan Port on November 25, inviting local logistics companies. In the seminar, he pointed out the fact that the trade volume between the two ports had steadily increased in spite of the global economic recession by using Busan Port as a transshipment port and asked them to continue using Busan Port.
On the other hand, Heung-A Shipping and Hanjin Shipping presented The Merits of Busan Port 0and the Competitiveness of Busan Port respectively, drawing interest and attention from participants at the seminar.
FCL, representing tenant companies of the New Port hinterland logistics complex, presented The Advanced Logistics Model by Using the New Port Hinterland Logistics Complex in Miyagi Prefecture and the win-win strategy through logistics cooperation between the two ports.
On November 26, BPA president visited Akita prefecture and held the seminar for improving logistics by using Busan Port, inviting local logistics companies and shippers. On November 27, they visited Japanese cruise companies, NYK and MOL, and explored ways to improve the cruise facilities and services of Busan Port.
A BPA official said that BPA would constantly provide information on Busan Port for the Japanese companies, pointing out the fact that the Japanese companies in Tohoku have high interests in Busan Port because Busan Port has many advantages, including cost merits over Japanese ones.
