A.P. Moller - Maersk name giving of the ‘MAERSK VALUE’ in Korea.
On Thursday September 13th 2007, A.P. Moller Singapore Pte Ltd.’s latest newbuilding, an 82,000 cubic meter VLGC gas tanker built in Korea was named. The sponsor Mrs Mette Thorup Sorensen, wife of Soren
Thorup Sorensen CFO of A.P. Moller- Maersk Group honoured the owner, A.P. Moller Singapore Pte Ltd., by naming the newbuilding MAERSK VALUE at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. in Mokpo, Korea.
CEO of Maersk Tankers and member of the group executive board, Mr Soren Skou, hosted the naming ceremony that was attended by customers, representatives from the maritime industry and employees from the A.P. Moller- Maersk Group.
MAERSK VALUE is the third in a series of four Very Large Gas Carriers from the Hyundai Group and the first of these from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.
The vessel is expected to be delivered from the yard in October. MAERSK VALUE is registered in Singapore and will be commanded by Captain Neeraj Bhushan, with Mr. Gagan Agarwal as Chief Engineer.
