KCTA rated ‘A’ for 3 consecutive years

The Korea Container Terminal Authorithy(KTCA) announced on Jan 11, 2007 that it received the highest rating ‘A’ following the previous two years in the 2005 Assessment of the Mid-Term Investment Plan on Transportation Facility which the Ministry of Construction and Transportation (MOCT) conducted on the 22 government organizations that invested in transportation facilities.

This assessment is implemented by the MOCT every year pursuant to the Transportation System Efficiency Act, and is conducted on 22 government organizations and government-owned businesses in the 5 major segments of national transportation facilities, such as roads, railways, airports, ports, and logistics facility. The assessment is designed to enhance the investment efficiency in the transportation facilities.

The assessment items include, among other things, service supply, project execution, budget execution, and project management, and the recently announced result is for the assessment made on the performance of the year 2005.

The KCTA received good evaluation in the areas of the project progress and the budget execution, as it had achieved 100 percent both in average project progress rate and budget execution rate and also saved about KRW 28.8 billion of costs by introducing new technology when it was leading the development of Gwanyang Port and the international logistics complex and related facilities in its hinterland as part of its major effort to help make the nation the logistics center in the Northeast Asia.

The KCTA were also rated the highest in the 4 areas such as the cooperation with other organizations (departments); the volume of complaints received, their cause and processing time; the project (site) supervision and problem remuneration ratio; and the development and implementation of safety measures and the safety accident rate. With all that, the KCTA obtained ‘A’rating in overall evaluation.

Among other things, the KCTA has reassured its status as a professional logistics organization and an innovative public entity by achieving the top rating in this assessment.
