[ AA Cargo To Expand Chicago O’Hare Facility ]
American Airlines Cargo held a groundbreaking ceremony in Chicago at
10th June, 1997. The ceremony marked the beginning of construction on
a 7,800 square-foot addition to the cargo facility at O’Hare
International Airport.
“We mean business in Chicago” said Joe Phelan, vice president of
Cargo Services. “We have the best people in the industry and we are
committed to providing excellnt service to our customers. The
expansion of our facility will make doing business in Chicago even
more convenient for our customers” said Phelan.
The expansion will include four new doors, with the required material
hankling equipment that will allow four additional trucks to be
unloaded at the same time, using a by-pass system designed for more
efficient handling of customer-loaded containers. The $2.8 million
addition will be completed by Oct. 1, in time for the busy holiday
season.
