[ Hanjin Shipping Targets 22Trillion Won Sales in 2010 ]
Hanjin Shipping Co., which marked its 20th anniversary on May16 of thi
s year, had come up with a package of mid and long-term business plans
targeting 22 trillion won in sales until the year 2010.
According to the Hanjin Shipping Concerned, under its business project
, the company aims to become the world’s third largest logistics comp
any, possessing about 700 ships on 52 regular sea service lines and 50
distribution centres in major cities around the world.
To this end, Hanjin Shipping plans to invest more than 17 trillion won
until the year 2010 and spur efforts to set up an efficient global se
rvice network while seeking joint cooperation with world leading shipp
ing firms.
From 2002, the company is planning to advance into cruise and theme pa
rk business, distribution consulting and container manufacturing.
Through an major business realinement, the firm is planning to increas
e distribution and marine-related businesses other than containerships
to 30 percent while reducing the rate of container transportation bus
iness from the current 73 percent to 40 percent by 2010.
