TIACA’s Growth is ‘Limitless,’ Says Outgoing President Menen
The growth potential for The International Air Cargo
Association(TIACA) is limitless, if the organization continues to
focus on world trade and enhance the role of air logistics in the
trade process, according to Ram C. Menen, the outgoing president of
the organization.
Menen, addressing the TIACA Annual General Meeting and Congress here,
said, “The core strategy during the last two years has been to
expand global awareness and the profile of the Association, with
prime focus on world trade, to enhance the role of air logistics in
the trade process and create an infrastructure within TIACA to handle
this.”
The senior general manager of cargo for Emirates Airline in Dubai,
U.A.E., Menen said, “Judging fron the steady response and reaction
we have received from all over he world, we have gone a long way
toward achieving the set objectives.”
He reviewed the TIACA accomplishments, including an increase in the
membership by 65percent over the last two years, the initiation of
dialogue with key shippers’ groups and other global trade and
industry associations, and the increase of the biennial operating
budget to more than $2 million commencing January 1997―signaling a
clear commitment of the organization to provide the necessary
infrastructure to achieve the goals.
