Hanjin Shipping awarded "Carrier Service Excellence Award for 2004" by Fred Meyer
Seoul, November 15, 2004 Hanjin Shipping was presented with the "Carrier Service Excellence Award for 2004" by Fred Meyer of Kroger Group.
Upon acquiring Fred Meyer in 1998, Kroger Group has gained its recognition as the largest retail distributor in the US which revenue topped USD 53.8 billion last year. Furthermore, Kroger Group was named one of the 500 top companies worldwide by Fortune.
At the award ceremony held in Portland, OR where the head office of Fred Meyer is located, President Darrell Webb of Fred Meyer praised the superb service quality of Hanjin Shipping that ensured Fred Meyer's competency in the market. He also noted that Fred Meyer was willing to maintain the business relationship with Hanjin, specifically with the recent deployment of 5,500 TEU class vessels into the lanes that make calls to Portland. On behalf of Hanjin Shipping, Senior Vice President Jong-Sun Lee, in charge of North America Regional Headquarters, received the award.
Apart from Fred Meyer, the Global Shippers Association, the largest shippers' association in North America, BVQI (Bureau Veritas Quality International), the Korean Association of Shipping Logistics and Owens Corning accredited Hanjin for its superior logistics services and environment-friendly system in 2003.
Hanjin's dedicated efforts to become the "world's most trusted carrier" were once again proved by the distinctions received from such renowned organizations worldwide throughout the year.
