Hyundai Logistics sets up LCL consolidation service
Hyundai Logistics Co. begins its LCL consolidation service from Uiwang CFS to L.A and New York from September 2. Hyundai Logistics will offer the service to save costs and time of Seoul-Inchon district shippers.
The company brought in 7 managers to take care of the 1,400 pyoung (1 pyoung is about 3.3. sq. m) area, bought forklifts, hand pallet trucks, and other equipment for this LCL consolidation service.
Hyundai Logistics plans to expand this service from the Americas to Europe.
The company expects that import and export shippers can save 20% per 3 CBM compared with existing consolidation costs incurred at Pusan Port. Also, it expects rapid and safe transport, thanks to trains between Uiwang and Pusan Port, that will save inland transportation costs and deliver cargoes ahead of schedule.
Hyundai Logistics will charge a license fee and commission for LCL cargoes over 5 CBM, and in the future charge for inland transportation shuttle buses.
