Marcel Chang Named Chairman of Evergreen America

Marcel Chang (Chang Ming-bo) has been named Chairman of Evergreen America Corporation effective 5 August, 2002. Mr Chang most recently served as President of Evergreen Marine Corporation (Taiwan) Ltd.

Mr Chang previously served as President and Executive Vice President of Evergreen America and has held significant management level positions for Evergreen in Europe and Taiwan. He will work with Thomas Chen, President of Evergreen America, in his new assignment. Evergreen America serves as North America agents for Evergreen.

In addition, Arnold Wang (Wang Long-shung) has been appointed President of Evergreen Marine Corporation (Taiwan) Ltd with effect from 5 August, 2002. Mr Wang joined Evergreen in 1978 and spent two years in Italy in the mid 1980s. He joined the affiliated company Uniglory Marine Corporation in 1987 and was appointed Executive Vice President in 1996.

In 1998, Mr Wang returned to Evergreen and to Europe as President of Evergreen Deutschland GmbH, based in Hamburg. In 2001, he transferred back to Evergreen’s Taipei headquarters as Executive Vice President and head of the Corporate Business Co-ordination Division.
