MSC recently announced plans to further optimize part of its Asia-Europe network.
Effective September 14th, MSC's 'Condor' service, which is jointly operated with Maersk Line between Asia and Europe will cease operation. The Condor service, which has a nominal weekly capacity of 9,500 TEU, will be deployed as a seasonal service if there is sufficient demand.
Since the new Asia-Europe network was launched in January 2015, continual performance analysis has allowed MSC to optimize the allocation of capacity among its services to meet customer demand. Further optimization of the Asia-Europe Network is currently being planned, full rotations and service details will be communicated the week commencing August 17th.
All the above network changes apply equally to both MSC and Maersk Line. The companies anticipate the changes to be fully effective by Quarter 4 2015.
