Samsung Heavy Industries reports the first half’s results

Samsung Heavy Industries (President and CEO: In-Sik Roh) saw revenue increase by 5.4% in the second quarter of 2011. Revenue grew to USD 2,992 million and added USD 154 million to the previous year’s record. Net income also was up by 10.1% to USD 247 million while operating profit declined by 7.2% to USD 308 million.

According to the Korean company's statement of accounts for the first half year, total revenue recorded USD 6,315 million, up by 5.4%. Furthermore operating profit and net income in the opening 6 months of 2011 jumped by 4.4% and 16.7%, respectively. <김보람 기자 brkim@ksg.co.kr>
