166 youngsters visit P&O Nedlloyd Antisana in PECT
On Aug. 14th, 2002, total of 166 youngsters from S.E.K. visited P&O NEDLLOYD ANTISANA (GRT: 26,626 Ton / Capacity: 2,556 Teu) in PECT (Pusan East Container Terminal) for the purpose of an on-the-spot study of the marine affairs. The ‘S.E.K. (Sea Explorers of Korea)’ is the only non-profit youth organization dedicated to instilling in our youths the importance of maritime preservation and cherishing our rich ocean heritage. The visitors consisted of 117 elementary school students and 49 high school students, and they could have an unforgettable on-board experience through the visiting program provided by P&O Nedlloyd Korea, PECT and S.E.K.
Being on board, all participants could deeply feel the importance of the ocean and become to bear challenging marine spirit in their mind through taking a direct look at stevedoring operation & various equipments with detailed explanation about vessel’s particular, route and navigation device etc.
P&O Nedlloyd, the visiting program provider, is one of the on-dock liners that have been using PECT, and it is one of the world biggest shipping companies with 3.2 million TEU of annual volume.
