MCS to change Ipanema Service between Asia-South America East Coast

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company announced on April 1st that the start of its stand-alone Ipanema service between Asia and South America East Coast.

All MSC existing volumes moved in transshipment will now be shipped directly to South America East Coast with an improved transit time to Santos in 33 days from Shanghai, 27 days from Yantian, and 22 days from Singapore.

This new direct service is a consequence of the termination of a Slot Charter Agreement with CSAV. The port rotation is: Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Yantian, Singapore, Santos, Buenos Aires, Navegantes, Santos, Coega (SAFR), Hong Kong, and back to Shanghai. Eleven 2,000 TEU vessels will be deployed on this service with the first sailing date set as April 18th. < Korea Shipping Gazette >
