APL Logistics named 'Carrier of the Year' by Barilla Pasta

APL Logistics has been named Barilla America, Inc.'s 'Carrier of the Year.' The global 3PL'S exceptional performance throughout 2013 set it apart from other carrier partners of Barilla America.

APL Logistics achieved perfect scores in categories such as on-time pick-up and delivery and load completion, exceeding requirements and expectations set by Barilla. APL Logistics provides over the road trucking and intermodal services for Barilla in the U.S. 

"It's an honor to be recognized by Barilla America for the Carrier of the Year award as it is testament of APL Logistics'capability in meeting supply chain demands of our customers,"said Bill Villalon, Senior Vice President, Automotive and Land Transport Services for APL Logistics. "The award encourages us to continue to deliver and excel in our performance."

Barilla's Carrier of the Year program was started five years ago to encourage and recognize high service standards among its logistics providers. The company also conferred on APL Logistics in 2013 its Carrier of the Quarter Award for delivering the best service performance among the carrier partners of Barilla America in the third quarter of 2013.

Barilla is the top dry pasta maker worldwide. The food manufacturer sells its more than 1,500 products in over 125 countries. The Barilla business encompasses pasta and sauces, along with additional pasta and baked goods operations.
