HMM appoints Lee Seok Dong as president

On March 28 HMM held a General Shareholders Meeting with the Board of Directors.

HMM promoted Lee Seok Dong from vice president to president and will site on the board of directors.
Lee Seok Dong is a graduate of Seoul National University and joined HMM in as a container business manager, and also served as Head of the Americas Division.

Also, executive director Lee Nam Yong and Hyundai Group Executive Director Lee Baek Hoon were appointed to the board of directors. From outside of the organization, Jeon Jun Soo, President of Seogang University, and Kim Heung Geol of the DMZ Culture Forum, were also appointed to the board of directors.

The salary limit for the 9 members on the board of directors was cut from 10 billion won last year to 7 billion won this year.

Executive Director Lee Nam Yong said, "This year HMM must switch to a surplus."

This year, HMM delivered ten 13,100-TEU container ships. The new mega vessels are being deployed Asia-Europe routes. Also, G6 cooperation has expanded to North America and Atlantic routes. < 이명지 기자 mjlee@ksg.co.kr >
