KSA Announces Export/Import Container-Cargo Statistics for the 8 Month

The Korea Shipowners Association(KSA) recently released statist
ics on the quantity of the Korea export and import container-cargo vol
ume during the eight months of 1998.
According to the statistics, the quantity of export/import container-c
argo volume amounted to 2.41million TEUs, a 2.7 percent decrease on th
e previous years’ period, 2.48 million TEUs.
During the period, export container was up 14.0 percent, total of 1.6
2 million TEUs, compared with a year ago. But import-container cargo d
ropped to 0.78 million TEUs for the 8 months, a decline of 25.3 percen
t from the year before.
