American Airlines Cargo Announces Summer Widebody Schedule

American Airlines Cargo is preparing for the busy summer shipping season with an expanded widebody schedule across its international network. At peak summer operations, the carrier will operate up to 186 international widebody flights per day, providing enhanced lift and connectivity for freight customers worldwide.
 
Throughout June, July and August, American will operate approximately 4,400 monthly widebody flights between the United States and Europe, reinforcing its position as a leading carrier across the Atlantic. London Heathrow Airport (LHR) will see the largest cargo growth this season, with service increasing to 21 daily departures, offering direct connections to key U.S. gateways and onward cargo opportunities across the airline’s domestic network.
 
The summer schedule also includes new and expanded European service across several markets. American adds or expands flying on routes including Athens (ATH) to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW); Budapest (BUD) to Philadelphia (PHL); Prague (PRG) to Philadelphia; Zurich (ZRH) to DFW; Milan (MXP) to Miami (MIA); and Edinburgh (EDI) to New York (JFK), with the EDI–JFK route operated on the new A321XLR. Additional widebody flying across Germany further strengthens the network, with daily service from Frankfurt (FRA) to both Charlotte (CLT) and DFW, as well as daily operations from Munich (MUC) to CLT, supporting cargo flows across Central Europe.
 
In Latin America, American is expanding widebody capacity to support strong seasonal demand, with increased service from Buenos Aires (EZE) to DFW. The additional flying enhances cargo access between South America and American’s central U.S. hub, creating more connection opportunities to domestic and international destinations across the network.
 
Domestically, American will operate a robust summer operation anchored by its hub at DFW, with more than 6,200 total domestic departures on peak summer days. Widebody service from Honolulu (HNL) and Kahului (OGG) to DFW enhances connectivity from the Pacific to the mainland U.S. while creating additional options for cargo to move efficiently through the carrier’s domestic system.
