MSC Ghana has secured a triple triumph, having recently been crowned “Shipping Line of the Year” at both the West Africa Business Excellence Awards and the 6th Ghana Shippers Awards, as well as “Liner Operator of the Year” at the 6th Ghana Shippers Awards . This remarkable achievement is a testament to the collective effort and commitment of every member of the MSC Ghana team, who work tirelessly to deliver exceptional service to our customers in the region.
The West Africa Business Excellence Awards is an annual event voted for by an independent jury and awards committee, honouring regional companies. MSC Ghana was named Shipping Line of the Year at the ceremony in Accra on 10 May.
"We are thrilled to have received this award," explained MSC Ghana Operations Director Dominic Ayi. "It's a tribute to our team's exceptional performance and commitment to providing top-notch customer service throughout the region. This recognition also underscores our strong collaboration with the wider MSC Family, which ensures reliable and versatile scheduling that we can always rely on.“
MSC Ghana’s celebrations continued into another month, as on June 28th, they were also awarded “Shipping Line of the Year” and “Liner Operator of the Year” for the second time at the 6th Ghana Shippers Awards. These prestigious awards are voted for by the board and executives of the Ghana Shippers' Authority, Ghana Port and Harbours Authority, and Ghana Maritime Authority, the government regulatory bodies overseeing Ghana’s maritime industry. It is the second time MSC Ghana has won, having previously won in 2022.
"This is an incredible accomplishment," explained MSC Ghana's Managing Director, Cedric Goujon. "It recognises not just our excellent performance over 2023 and our longstanding relationship with the local authorities but also the commitment of our staff. Their hard work ensures we remain at the top of our game, leading the way with consistency, trustworthiness and sustainability. I must also thank our broader MSC Family. Reliable vessel schedules, service upgrades and the addition of very large vessels into the Port of Tema were critical to our success this year.“
In 2023, MSC Ghana was the number one carrier in Ghana in terms of TEUs for both import and export, leading the export market with a share of 24% and being the key import challenger with a share of 26%. MSC Ghana aims to maintain this competitive edge with ongoing customer service excellence and even greater adaptability.
"These awards not only recognise our past achievements but also set a high standard for our future performance,” Cedric Goujon added. “We are committed to adapting to the market's dynamics and engaging with our clients, always remembering that they are the core of our business. This dedication to our customers and our adaptability will be key to our continued success."
