Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd (ONE) held a "Container Shipping Summit" on March 16 at Dejima, located in Nagasaki of Japan, in cooperation with the Nagasaki City, Anchor Ship Partners Co.Ltd. and KOZO KEIKAKU ENGINEERING Inc.
Sixteen, leading experts in Japan from various fields of specialty, including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), shipping, supply chain, and ship engineering to attend the first container shipping summit organized by Ocean Network Express (ONE).
Together with ONE’s own experts from various departments including Sustainability, Vessel Operations and Human Resources, the attendees addressed two main topics: 'The future of container shipping with an ESG perspective' and 'Technologies that will change the future of container shipping'.
The summit began with an introduction about the latest research and development projects being conducted by each of the experts in attendance and a presentation on ONE’s operation’s initiatives and challenges.
Following, the participants discussed the direction of future initiatives to achieve the goals of: decarbonization, building an efficient and stable supply chain, environmental protection, and strengthening the competitiveness of the container shipping business. Based on the discussions at the summit, ONE will continue to strengthen its partnerships with industry, academia, and other stakeholders.
