Hanjin Shipping to impose PSS for Asia-Europe trade

Hanjin Shipping has announced that it will impose peak season surcharge (PSS) for Asia-Europe trade as of June 1st, 2012.
According to Hanjin Shipping, this peak season surcharge is inevitable for the company to sustain quality service in the midst of rising operating costs resulting from repositioning containers back to Asia to accommodate increased demand for outbound cargo. Details are as follows :
- Effective: June 1st, 2012
- Route: Far East Asia & South East Asia & IPBC & Middle East to North Europe & Mediterranean
- Surcharge: USD 350 per TEU / USD 700 per FEU
- Remark: Dry, Reefer, Special including Japan until further notice < Korea Shipping Gazette >
