[Intermarine Opens Korean Office and Appoints New Agent]
Intermarine, the managing agent of Industrial Maritime Carriers(Bahama
s), has opened a supervisory office in Seoul, Korea, and appointed Hyu
pwha Shipping Agency Co., Ltd. as general agents. “Korea is a primar
y market for our Pacific Rim service. We expected these strategic mov
es will strengthen our level of customer service in Korea and further
enhance our market position,” stated Roger kavanagh, President of Int
ermarine, in making the announcement.
Mr. M. S. Seo joins Intermarine as General Manager of the new Seoul of
fice with oversight responsibilities for Hyupwha. “Mr. Seo brings to
us a level of insight and experience in the Korean shipping market th
at is rarely found today. We expect him to become an integral part of
our marketing program development and implementation,”commented Shell
i Ali, Vice President at Intermarine. Mr. Seo comes to Intermarine af
ter a long and extensive career with Pan Ocean Shipping and Sang Jung
Shipping Company. A graduate of Seoul Nation University, Mr. Seo has
spent over 20 years working in the Korea market. Mr. Seo will reside
at Hyupwha’s offices in Seoul.
Hyupwha, headed up by Mr. C.J. Shin formerly with Hyundai Merchant Mar
ine, has vast experience in the breakbulk market trade which will be o
f great benefit to Intermarine. Hyupwha’s appointment is effective w
ith all Industrial vessels arriving Korea starting August 1st.
