[ Multiport Ship Agencies Network Helds ]

The Multiport Ship Agencies Network will be holding
its Annual General Meeting in the Westin Chosun Hotel, Seoul, from 21s
t-23rd April, 1996.
On the evening of 23rd April, the Multiport Members will host a Cockta
il/Buffet Reception for the Shipping Community in Korea in the Grand B
allroom of the Westin Chosun Hotel.
Mr. P. J. Titchener, Secretary-General of Multiport, said, “ I am del
ighted that wu are here in Seoul for our Annual General Meeting. Our A
ssociation was founded 18 years ago, by Mr. Frank Overlaet, to restore
, uphold and promote the highest standards of integrity, quallity and
professionalism in all ship agency business and related maritime activ
ities.
This is our second meeting in Korea, and because of Korea’s importanc
e in world shipping generally, we will certainly be back here in a few
years time.
Multiport has one Member per country and we are proud to say that our
representation has grown from 83 to 92 countries in the last twelve mo
nths, with over 1150 ports covered world-wide. Our Member in Korea, si
nce 1981, is Eastern Shipping Co., which has already achieved ISO 9002
accreditation.
Eastern Shipping has been in he forefront in supporting our Associatio
n’s mission to promote these standards which shipowers and operators
increasingly expect of their agents.”
