Yang Ming and OOCL launch new joint service - CPX
In order to enlarge businesses scale for the developing Middle East, Pakistan and Subcontinent market and to enhance their service fleet competitiveness, Yang Ming will launch a new service names CPX(China-Pakistan Express) with OOCL(Orient Overseas Container Line) on January 17th, 2008.
Yang Ming and OOCL will deploy three and two vessels for the CPX service, which will take 35 days round-trip. The new service rotation is Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Singapore - Karachi - Mundra - Penang - Port Kelang - Singapore - Hong Kong - Shanghai. The maiden voyage will sail from Shanghai on January 17th with the YM INAUGURATION(1,200 TEU).
CPX will provide the quickest service in the market with a 15 day transit time from Shanghai to Karachi.
Yang Ming has had various cooperative experiences with OOCL including existent joint services in the Vietnam trade. They will foster a stronger relationship through the CPX service joint venture.
At the same time the new service is launched, Yang Ming will adjust the CGX rotation to enhance the service quality and expand the deployment in the Persian Gulf. Moreover, this adaptation will highlight the value of the existing DUX (Dubai - Umm Qasr, Iraq) feeder service.
CPX and CGX are two main trend services that provide a very complete, rapid and punctual network in Middle East, Pakistan and Subcontinent area.
